Wow...what a year! The good, the bad, and the in between....has rounded out to be quite the experience.
Reflecting on the past year I’ve realized a few things about myself....
*I’m more guarded and less affectionate then I’d like to be at times.
*Running a business takes thick skin and passion alone won’t make it succeed
*Forgetfulness has taken hold of my life! To the point that I’ve forgotten to meet a client, take Jesse to a Dr’s appt, and the list goes on ...I’ve already tried to remedy this with calendars & reminders set up everywhere I can possibly think of.
*I really did follow through on my resolution to “live in the now” Life has taken on a new routine that forced me to do just that. The planner/list maker side of me really struggles with this cause it keeps me from planning ahead the way I like (see previous point of being forgetful) but it also has allowed me to truly enjoy the moment while experiencing it and not think of the “next” upcoming thing.
*A few of my friendships have really blossomed in 2010. Thank you girls...you know who you are. You feed my girl soul :)
* I’m happy with the person I’m becoming but know there’s still LOTS of room to grow & improve
And with that last point...here’s a few resolutions/goals I have for myself for 2011
*Be better organized! Goes without saying really....
*Show more LOVE...in every aspect of my life. Towards Kristen, Jesse, my family, my friends and clients.
*Be more specific with the goals I’d like to obtain for my photography business.
*Returning from the 2010 resolutions....GIVE! I feel like I helped people whenever I could in 2010 but I know I could have done better. So again this resolution remains for 2011.
*And last but not least, live life with a joyful heart. These past few months I found it all too easy to complain and be victim to my circumstances. It’s time to look at the positive and truly make the best of every situation. Because life is NOW, not where we’re going, or where we want to be. Don’t wish and wish and forget to be joyful, grateful and thankful for what you have now, who is in your life now and your circumstances right now.
May your 2011 be filled with LOVE, GENEROSITY & A JOYFUL HEART :) all on a calendar colour coded & covered with post it note reminders.
Happy New Year!!!

Christmas 2010
I'm so grateful for my family and friends.
This Christmas did not disappoint. With the exception of not getting a blizzard :(
I know I know...I'm 'that' person who LOVES snow storms at Christmas time.
My vacation has been great. I've rested and spent much missed time with my family. And Christmas of course I was spoiled as always. I'm truly thankful for being so blessed.
Christmas Eve we continued with our usual tradition of eating lobsters and opening one gift. Jesse opened an original Tickle Me Elmo from Nana & Papa who were in Newfoundland this year.
This was Christmas morning. I just love this photo of Jesse :)
I must have been a good girl cause Kris...I mean Santa brought me a 20mm lens.
Testing it out
And to you my blog readers Thank you & Merry Christmas for staying around these last few months where the blog posts have been few and far between.

Girls Annual Cookie Bake
One of my favourite things to do every Christmas is to spend time with the girls and make our cookies for the holidays.
I'm one of those people who prefer to cook. I really do. But baking...well although I LOVE sweets especially chocolate...it's just not my forte.
So what better way to get the Christmas baking done then spending an afternoon giggling with the girls and then exchanging our cookies at the end of a fabulous day.
Being her usual silly self :)
Mmm..............snowballs
Had to include this one just because I love Pebbles & Kiwi so much.
Even more that they cuddle together.
Always my favourite photo

Feels like Home
I was reading Jody's blog today...catching up on some past posts whenI read this post that reminded me of when this house where Kristen, Jesse, Boone & I live now, actually felt like home for the first time.
It was a Sunday evening...December of 2005
I was home alone...pre Boone & Children. Kristen was playing a late night hockey game.
The house was dark except for the light of the Christmas tree and tv.
It was at that moment, in the soft comforting glow of the tree that our new house felt like home.
It was a quiet calm. A cozy, warm and welcoming feeling.
And even though life right now is anything but what I've just described. This house still feels like home...
And just to further demonstrate the madness...here's an outtake from our family portraits last month.
And I wouldn't change a thing.
And I wouldn't change a thing.

My new fave place in town... Roxy!!
Saturday I spent most of the afternoon there, sipping Candy Cane Hot Chocolate, snacking on a delicious chocolate brownie and meeting with who is going to be a fabulous bride & groom lined up for my 2011 weddings.

Ignite the Light
"Do you know that there's still a chance for you
'Cause there's a spark in you?
You just gotta ignite the light and let it shine....."
'Cause there's a spark in you?
You just gotta ignite the light and let it shine....."
